Throughout this site, we have a number of video and other multimedia resources that can take you to historical sites or help visualize what are sometimes complex ideas. Col. Butler Miltonberger was a tough commander.

The 134th National Guard unit fought bravely in Europe.

After the war, Miltonberger was promoted and others went on with their lives.

The North Platte Canteen was a welcome respite for troops on their way to war.

To support the canteen, one young man auctioned off the shirt on his back ... over and over again.
